Carson Ellis is the author and illustrator of the best-selling picture books Home and Du Iz Tak? She has illustrated a number of books for kids, including The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, The Composer Is Dead by Lemony Snicket, and the Wildwood Chronicles by her husband, Colin Meloy. She is also the illustrator-in-residence for Colin’s band, the Decemberists, and received a Grammy nomination for the design of their 2015 LP, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. She lives on a farm in Oregon with her family and a lot of animals.
Thomas Pierce is the author of The Afterlives and Hall of Small Mammals. He is a recipient of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 award and a visiting professor of creative writing at the University of Virginia.
Fiona McFarlane is the author of the novel The Night Guest, which has been translated into nineteen languages, and the story collection The High Places, which won the 2017 International Dylan Thomas Prize. She lives in Sydney, Australia.
David Hayden was born in Ireland and lives in England. His writing has appeared in the Stinging Fly, Granta online, the Dublin Review, and PN Review. His first book of stories, Darker with the Lights On, was published in the United Kingdom by Little Island Press in 2017 and in North America by Transit Books in 2018.
Callan Wink lives in Montana, where he is a fly-fishing guide on the Yellowstone River. His story collection, Dog Run Moon, was published in 2016, and his novel, August, is forthcoming.
