Tamara Jenkins

Tamara Jenkins wrote and directed the movie Slums of Beverly Hills, which premiered in the Directors' Fortnight section of the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship for filmmaking, and her short films have been screened at the Museum of Modern Art and the Sundance Film Festival, where she received an award for Best Short Film. She also directs public service announcements and works with teenagers in theater and film with such organizations as the 52nd Street Project and Scenarios USA. She is currently writing an original screenplay for This Is That and Universal's Focus Features, which she plans to direct.
